A downloadable game

Joaquim, the Architect is an educational city-building game developed during my Game Development degree as part of a collaboration with the JACOB 2019 event. The project was designed to support deaf children in practicing basic math through interactive gameplay.

Players freely build a floating city by placing buildings on a grid-based island. Before placing each structure, the player must correctly answer a math question (multiple-choice) — encouraging focus, problem-solving, and learning through repetition.

The game features a smooth building placement system, real-time previews, and valid position checking, along with a fully interactive UI and roaming NPCs for added life and feedback.

This project was developed in a 2-person team during my Game Development degree at Lusófona, as part of the JACOB 2019 initiative.
